DTSC Model Pollution Prevention Shop Award

The Department of Toxic Substances Control, or DTSC, protects California and Californians from exposures to hazardous wastes. Approximately 1,000 scientists, engineers and specialized support staff work in nine offices statewide.

Prestigious Award
Award recipients must pass a rigid facility test. The shop is graded on 27 specific pollution prevention items. Many apply for recognition but few are accepted. There are only two DTSC certified model shops in San Mateo County.

"The California Environmental Protection Agency's Department of Toxic Substances Control wishes to commend Redwood General Tire for its leadership and commitment to minimize pollution through its efforts in pollution prevention, environmental management practices, employee training, and facility design."
